Your First Appoinment

We start your care at our office with a comprehensive examination, comprised of a facial exam, soft tissue exam, cancer screening, bite wing and panoramic radiographs, a portrait photograph, a full periodontal exam, hard tissue exam, and mechanical evaluation of the TMJ (temporomandibular joint).

We also try to find out about your personal likes and dislikes, unpleasant dental experiences in the past, how you feel about your smile, even what you like to do in your spare time.  And we provide a bulletin board with pictures and a brief description of each staff member, so you can get to know us.

We'll take a careful medical and dental history, and we'll consult with your doctors, if necessary.  We try to be as thorough as possible.

The results of the exam are reviewed by Dr. Rhicard and the hygienist.  A consultation appointment is scheduled about a week after the comprehensive exam.  At that time Dr. Rhicard will review the findings, emphasizing any discovered problems.  He'll then discuss your options and help you formulate a treatment plan that will meet your needs.  You're free to schedule following appointments at your convenience.
